Having fresh herbs at home to spoon at the time of preparing food is a luxury!
But a lot of people buy the plants and let the poor things die of thirst!
If you’re one of those esquecidinhos: Your troubles are over!
This vase model is ideal for you! The water that stays in the glass underneath goes up capillarity through the string and leaves the earth always moistened.
But don’t even think about using Pet bottle. Use Glass bottles! It gets much more elegant and it’s easy to cut!
You don’t believe me? See the step by step with photos and check…

Step By Step How to Cut Glass Bottles
1-fill a container with ice and water.
Tip: The container must be very cold water and must be large enough to immerse the entire bottle at once. Take a test before starting and see if the bottle will be fully immersed in the water quickly. If the bottle is placed in water gradually, it may not break, break pie or crack. If you do not have a large container, do as we do, fill the ice kitchen sink and open the tap until it fills the whole tub with water. To leave the water cooler yet, add a teaspoon of salt and mix.
2-Tie a string to the bottle (which should not be damp) and cut the knots.
Tip: The thicker the better the beard, the longer the fire will be lit and the line where the string was placed will be hotter when we set fire.
3-Remove the string and soak it in alcohol or other flammable liquids.
4-Reattach the string to the bottle by positioning it at the time you want to cut the glass.
5-with the bottle in the horizontal position, set fire to the string and rotate the bottle to the shaft without stopping until the fire extinguishes.
Tip: Rotate the bottle with constant motion so that the heat propagates the same in all the way around. This will help the glass shatter straighter!
6-Immediately after the fire extinguishes, immerse the entire bottle in very cold water (very freezing) and let the water rapidly enter the bottleneck. The bottle will break with the thermal shock!
If there are burrs, trim them with thick sandpaper, number 60 or 80. The iron sandpaper is better if you have to a lot! If the bottle breaks right and just want to give a retouching, the wooden sandpaper will serve.
Tip: Wear gloves to sand, because glass dust can splash in your hands and hurt.
If the bottle does not break, try other models, because we try with a small bottle of beer that has not broken in any way. The bottles of olive oil, wine and sparkling have broken down quietly.
We don’t test with a normal-sized beer bottle.
