Bell & Ross Vintage 123 Gmt 24 h-If Old Look New Watches

The BR vintage 123 GMT 24 H.

The name says it: you is therefore not only in the vintage look (which reminds a bit of a Rolex Explorer), but has also a GMT function – among other things known as “second time zone”. To learn more about this, below is a brief summary, I wrote a while ago on the topic of GMT watches.

Everyone else scroll down-to the pictures and other details.

The four hands clock: GMT history & function
The GMT function watches developed for Rolex in the 50s for the pilot of the legendary airline Pan am.Reasons they were regularly between different time zones on the way and therefore need a timer, she had to

adjust the respective local time not constantly. The term GMT comes from the official until 1928 world time “Greenwich Mean Time”. Today it is UTC “coordinated universal time”. Still use the old name of GMT most clock manufacturers when it comes to watches with a second time zone. The functioning of GMT watches: You have two hour hand, which also specify the time of the home – and arrival place. The reading of the additional hour hand is – different than at normal reading – the dial divided into 12 hours, rather than going through an outer ring (bezel) with a 24-hour separations. It reads “inside” or “outside” so depending on the need. For reading the second time to be as comfortable, the second hour hand usually in appearance and in the length differs from the normal hour hand.
